Morgan Freeman who has played countless supporting roles struck gold again with THE DARK KNIGHT.

10. The Dark Knight (2008) - On the list solely because this is the only film to feature Mr. Freeman in the IMAX format. You haven't lived until you've been given life lessons by a 72ft tall Morgan Freeman.

9. The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - Also known as the guy's chick flick, this cable classic started the "Morgan Freeman reads something in incredibly effecting voice over".

8. Dreamcatcher (2003) - Be warned, I have no right suggesting this "movie" to people because believe me, it's a big mess of stupid. Morgan's eyebrows give the best performance in the whole movie.

7. Deep Impact (1998) - "The other movie about asteroids" with Morgan as the best president of the United States since Harrison Ford.

6. Hard Rain (1998) - From the producers of Speed comes a film starring Christian Slater. If that doesn't sell you on the film I don't know what will, maybe Morgan Freeman as smart and tough criminal will do it. Easily one of the most under appreciated action films of the 90s.

5. Bruce Almighty (2003) - Morgan plays God we all could laugh with.

4. Se7en (1995) - The extreme visuals overshadow the under rated performances in the best serial killer movie of the 90s. Morgan is still one of the best burnt out detectives to be put on movie screens.

3. Along Came a Spider (2001)- A by-the-numbers thriller, but because it features Morgan in the lead is more than enough to recommend it. He can do "great supporting performance" with both hands tied behind his back. It's these kind of merely okay movies where Freeman plays the lead we need more of.

2. Glory (1989) - Probably the beginning of "Freeman gives a great supporting performance in a movie where we want to see more of his character."

1. Unforgiven (1992) - Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman are an onscreen team we do not see enough of. Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman play retired bounty hunters doing one last job. It's just one of those things that puts a big smile on your face.
