The first half of May for the valley is pretty packed with music and events. Kicking the month off on May first is Mezcal, a Visalia-based Latin rock band, playing at the Cellar Door in Visalia, 21 and over. That same night, 40 minutes away in Fresno is Celtic Women, playing at the William Saroyan Theatre.
May 2nd, The Cellar Door is graced by Maria Taylor, former member of Azure Ray, and has collaborated on Bright Eyes. Opening for her is Whispertown2000.
On May 5, again at the Cellar Door, is the country-esque, gritty folk rock bands Truth and Salvage Co. with The Whiskey and the Devil Chaplain.
May 8th, at the Fox Theatre is the famous Christian band Switchfoot, made famous by their song “Meant To Live”. Café 210, located in the downtown area, sponsors this event.
Then on May 10th we are honored to receive Frank Black (of the PIXIES!) playing in his new band, Grand Duchy, at the Cellar Door at 9:30. On May 13th, an all age show at Howie and Son’s pizza on Mooney Blvd., Ponytail and Rademacher, 9:30pm.
May 15 we are excited to have M. Ward playing at the Fox Theatre, sponsored by Sound and Vision.
Tickets are $25 and are selling quick. M. Ward has worked with Bright Eyes, Jenny Lewis, and My Morning Jacket. The next night, in Fresno, EUPHORIA plays at The Starline, 8:30 p.m.
