This Sunday May 11 headlining the Cellar Door, Pixies frontman Frank Black will be performing with his new band, Grand Duchy.

This Sunday, May 11, Sound and Vision Foundation presents Grand Duchy, featuring Frank Black of The Pixies.

Though they might not be the world's most famous band, you'd be hard-pressed in an argument amongst on of their fans. The Pixies following is dedicated and loving for the late 80's alternative rock band, who draws influences from punk and surf rock.

To say the town is excited to receive them might be an understatement. I've already talked to several minors who have happily made plans to listen to the music from the street corner. And how could more than a few people not be giddy when our very own Velouria Records is named after a Pixies' song.

Grand Duchy is composed of two members, Frank and his spouse, Violet, who have five children together and have been rumored to wish to buy a small house with the profits from the new album. The record is said to have 80's influence, but is overall experimental.

Kicking off the night will be LA based "ambient/electro" group Red Blue Yellow. The event again will be this Sunday (or Mother's Day) at the Cellar Door at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $10, 21 and over.
