Chairman of the North Visalia Events Committee Hector Uriarte Jr. states that the committee "wants to bring the Lincoln Oval Park and the community to the forefront of social and civic endeavors."

Let the festivities begin! Saturday, September 19th is the date for the Cultural Arts of Visalia event from 4pm-10pm. It will be held at the Lincoln Oval Park, and will have: live entertainment, crafts, food, vendors, a Farmer's Market, interactive arts for all youth, and a bounce house for the kids.

DJ Tyler Kast, Yohan & Friends, and CeCe are COS students that will be performing along with the Danzantes Yostatepto, Mah Op, Son Del Valle, and Los Compos Del Valle.

“The purpose of the Visalia Events Committee is to bring awareness of cultural integration and to strengthen community bonds through the arts and economic opportunites,” said Hector Uriarte Jr., Chairman of the North Visalia Events Committee.

Uriarte looks to change the image of the Oval Park, ensure positive family entertainment, and at the same time offer opportunities for an economic push that will bring in local revenue, and community assurance.“It takes the whole community to make change possible,” said Uriarte..

Local painters and sculptors will be painting and sculpting, as well as showcasing their work. This is a great opportunity to experience culture through singing, dancing, art, and cuisine.

The Danzantes Yostatepeto performs different ceremonial dances that celebrate the earth and sun. Yohan & Friends bring traditional and contemporary Asian pop music, and CeCe will instill the capturing voice of a siren with Spanish and English love ballads. Mah Op, a local band known for home grown reggae and goodtime sounds, will also perform.
Son Del Valle plays rhythmic sounds of the Mexican-Pacific region, and the final performance will be from Los Compos Del Valle, playing their own dance-laced songs. DJ Tyler Kast will be spinning a mix of electronic/dance and hip hop jams throughout the evening.

So spend Saturday night with friends, family, and the community at the Cultural Arts Festival. Get to know more about the varieties of culture here in Tulare County, and make the night a memorable one.

The Cultural Arts Festival will be held at the Lincoln Oval Park on 900 N Court St, Visalia, CA this Saturday September 19 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
