The Board of Trustees has recently extended Dr. Bill Scroggins’ contract to 2013. Scroggins, the President/ Superintendent of COS, has held this position since July of 06. Each year, the board evaluates Scroggins’ contract for further extension. They maintain 3 years to the contract.
According to the board, Scroggins has done well as President of the school.
“The Board is very happy with him," says Greg Sherman, President of the Board of Trustees. "There is good communication between Scroggins and the Board."
According to Sherman, Scroggins is very good at expressing what needs to be accomplished by the two parties. Scroggins has also helped to bring “Achieving the Dream” to COS, a national initiative aimed at increasing student success in community colleges.
The new contract has a few changes to it. Scroggins salary has remained unchanged and his vacation days have increased from 20 to 25.
The board is very content with Scroggins’ performance and would like to see him as President until his retirement.
